学校：Bishop Druitt College（オ―ストラリア）

期間：３月２６日～６月２２日

週に2-3回10年生と一緒に日本語の授業に参加しています。日本語の授業では自分が思っているよりレベルの高いことを勉強していて驚きました。カタカナ英語がわかった瞬間やオノマトペを読んで笑っている姿を見るのが好きです。リアクションが大きいので見ている側もつられて笑ってしまいます。クラスの中には上田西高校へ留学をしたことのある生徒もいます。彼は今でも日本語の勉強を一生懸命取り組んでいて、日本での想い出を楽しそうに話してくれます。それがとても嬉しいです。僕のホストファミリーのニルズも6月末から日本へ留学へ来るので、楽しい思い出を作って欲しいです。そして僕がBDCに通えるのも残り2週間をきりました。授業や私生活で良いと感じたことをたくさん吸収して日本へ帰ります。

I attend Japanese classes with 10th graders 2-3 times a week. I was surprised to learn that they are studying at a higher level than I thought they would in Japanese class. I like to see them laugh when they understand katakana English or when they read onomatopoeia. Their reactions are so loud that even those of us watching them laugh along with them. One of the students in our class has studied abroad at Ueda Nishi High School. He is still working hard on his Japanese language studies and happily shares his memories of Japan with us. That makes me very happy. My host family, Nils, is also coming to Japan in at the end of June, so I hope he will have a good time in Japan. And I have less than two weeks left at BDC. I will return to Japan after absorbing many good things in class and in my personal life.
