ハーモニーデーでは、私服で登校をしている生徒が多かったです。私も私服で登校しました。民族衣装を着ている生徒やオレンジの服を来ている生徒もいました。オレンジ色はコミニュケーションの色であり、自由なアイディアとお互いの尊重を表すという意味でこの色が選ばれ、ハーモニーウィーク中にオレンジの服を着る事で文化の多様性を祝うそうです。また、お昼の時間にはお菓子の販売をお手伝いをしたのですが日本では見たことのないお菓子もありました。一緒に販売をした生徒達は人権グループの生徒達でした。お手伝いをしていた時に、私はオーストラリアのお金が日本円でどれくらいなのかが分からなかったのですが、1人の女の子がお釣りなどを渡す時に助けてくれました。また、お菓子は完売したので嬉しかったです。高校生の集会では、数人の生徒がスピーチをしたり1人の女の子が歌(レポート⑤と同じ歌)を歌ったりしていました。この日のホスピタリティーの授業では、チーズが入ったクロワッサンみたいなパンとパウンドケーキを食べながら授業を受けました。どちらもとても美味しく、もう一度食べたいくらいです。3月28日は東京からBDCに留学にきていた留学生の最終日でした。授業やキャンプなどを通して仲良くなりました。6週間という長いようで短い間でしたが、沢山お話ができて楽しかったです。4月からは西高からも1人の留学生が来ます。その子とは10年生の授業を一緒に受ける予定です。今週は計画通りに勉強ができなかったので、来週は受験勉強との両立をできるようにしたいです。
On Harmony Day, a large number of students were off to school in casual clothes. I also went to school in casual clothes. There were also students wearing national costumes or orange clothes. This color was chosen color of communication and representing freedom of ideals and respecting each other so people celebrate cultural diversity by wearing orange during Harmony Week. Also, at lunchtime, there were sweets that I had never seen before when I helped sell sweets. Students who we sold them were in the human rights group. When I was doing that, I didn’t know how much the Australian dollar was worth in Japanese yen but a girl helped me when I handed over the change etc. Also, sweets were sold out so I was happy. At a high school gathering, some students were giving a speech and a girl was singing a song ( same song as report ⑤). In this day’s hospitality class, I took this class while eating bread which is like a croissant with cheese and a pound cake. Both were very delicious and I would like to eat them again. March 28th was the final day for exchange students who came from Tokyo to study abroad at BDC. We became friends through camping and classes. We spent six weeks at school but it felt so fast, however we were able to take a lot and it was fun. In April, one exchange student will come from my school. We are going to take a Japanese class in year 10. I couldn’t study my plan this week so I’d like to be able to balance it with studying for the entrance exam next week.
