【BDC長期留学 ウィークリーレポート⑥】上原美桜さん

オーストラリアに来てから5週間と3日が経ちました。最近は日々が速く感じます。先週の水曜日、10年生の生徒たちが日本語のテストを受けました。彼らは真剣にテストに取り組んでいました。彼らの努力する姿が、私の英語の勉強を更に励ませてくれます。先週の木曜日、カリスが家族のためにチョコチップクッキーを焼いてくれました。彼女と一緒に作るのは楽しかったです。ホスピタリティの授業で英語のレシピを読んでいたので、チョコチップクッキーのレシピが理解できたことが嬉しかったです。先週の金曜日のホスピタリティの授業では、私たちはホットチョコレートを飲みました。同じクラスの女の子が作ってくれました。クラスで一緒にドリンクを作って飲むのは楽しいと思いました。先週の土曜日、ホストマザーと一緒にスーパーマーケットに行き、シャンプーを買いました。それは日本ではあまり一般的でないスイカの香りでした。その夜、ホストファミリーの手作りピザを食べました。私の好きなピザは、ホストマザーがデザインしたものでした。ホストファミリー、BDCの先生方、上田西高校の先生方、交換留学生の友人たち、そして家族のサポートのおかげで、充実した留学生活を楽しんでいます。半分の留学期間が経過した今、そのことを強く感じ、毎日彼らに本当に感謝しています。先週の日曜日、ホストファミリーを変えました。これからも学校生活を楽しんで、英語の勉強に励んでいきます。オーストラリアでの残りの時間を大切にしたいと思います。
It’s been five weeks and three days since I came to Australia. It feels like the days are going by faster lately.
Last Wednesday, the Year 10 students had a Japanese test. They were working hard and seriously on the test. Their hard work motivates me to study English harder. Last Thursday, Carys baked chocolate chip cookies for the family. I had a great time making it with her. I read recipes in English in Hospitality class, so I was happy that I was able to understand the chocolate chip cookie recipe. In last Friday’s Hospitality class, we drank hot chocolate. A girl in the same class made it for us. I thought it would be fun to make drinks with everyone during class and drink them. Last Saturday, I went to the supermarket with my host mother and I bought some shampoo. It was a watermelon scent that is not commonly sold in Japan. That evening, I ate the host family’s homemade pizza. My favourite pizza was the one designed by my host mother.
With the support of my host family, BDC teachers, teachers at Uedanishi High School, friends of exchange students and my family, I am enjoying a fulfilling study abroad experience. Now that half of my study period has passed, I feel it strongly, and I am truly grateful to them everyday.
Last Sunday, I changed my host family. I will continue to enjoy my school life as before and work hard to learn English. I will cherish the rest of my time in Australia.
