活動報告

先週の日曜日僕はオーストラリアのBILLABONG ZOOというところに行き、動物を観察したり、カンガルーやヘビ、コアラなど実際に触ってみたりしました。その動物園はオーストラリアの南東にあり自然豊かで、僕はさまざまな動物に出会うことができました。最初に僕たちは誰もが好きなコアラを見に行きました。ただ見るでけでなく、触る体験や餌やりの体験もしました。思っていた以上にふさふさで丸くて、本当に本当に可愛かったです。特に、寝ているコアラはものすごく可愛かったです。また僕は、オーストラリアにしかいない動物や危険な動物、珍しい動物なども見ました。その中でもヒクイドリという鳥はおもしろいと思いました。謎のとさかやカラフルな肉垂、鳥なのに巨大な体で、ものすごい特徴的な動物でした。気になったので帰って調べてみると、ヒクイドリは世界で最も凶暴な鳥として知られていました。理由としては、飛べない代わりに発達した足、十センチほどの爪、縄張り意識が強いなどさまざまで、より一層興味が湧きました。他にも日常生活でよく見かける動物についても新しい発見をすることができました。そして、それぞれの動物の性格や特徴を知ることは動物と共存していく上でとても大事だと気づきました。オーストラリアは世界の中でも自然保護、環境問題に対する考え方が進んでおり、そのような場所での動物とのふれあいは人生においてとても貴重な経験になりました。また、自然環境に対する考えがより深まりました。これからは、家庭でも取り組めるエコ活動を積極的に行なっていきたいです。

Last week on Sunday, I went to BILLABONG ZOO in Australia. I observed animals and touched a snake, kangaroos and koalas. The zoo is in the southeast of Australia. I could see many types of animals because of the nature. At first, we went to see the koalas which are loved by everyone. We not only looked at them, but also experienced touching and feeding them. They had a bushier and rounder body than I thought. They were very very cute. Especially, the koalas that were sleeping in the trees were amazing, Also, I saw animals that only live in Australia, which are rare and dangerous ones. Among the animals, I thought a bird which was called a cassowary was interesting. It had a mysterious crest and a colorful wattle, even though it was a bird, it had a big body and it was very distinctive animal. I was interested in it so, I investigated more about the bird on the internet after going to home. According to the web site, cassowary is known as the most dangerous bird in the world because it developed legs and nails about ten centimeter long instead of being able to fly, highly conscious of their area, and I became more interested in it.

In addition to this, I got a new idea about animals that we see in our lives. Then, I realised the importance of knowing each animal’s temper and characteristics to exist with them. Australia has improved ideas of the conservation of nature and environmental issues more than other countries. I had a valuable experience in my life, playing with animals in a place like that.  Also, my idea at natural environment became deeper. After this, I would like to engage in eco activities that I can do at home proactively.
