学校:Bishop Druitt College

期間:2月9日〜4月24日　5月8日〜6月22日

近頃は昼間も夜も肌寒くなり、学校ではカーディガンを着るようになり、夜は特に冷えるので毛布を追加でかけるようになりました。5月に寒いなんて不思議な感覚です。そして、花粉がすごいです。

週末にはマーケットに行きました。マーケットではアボリジニの柄の商品が売られていたり、お好み焼きや植物なんかも売られてたりしていました。私は(おそらく)インドの飲み物のマサラチャイを飲みました。スパイシーな紅茶というのが素直な感想です。残念ながら、私はこのお茶のおいしさはわかりませんでしたが日本にいたら飲むことはできなかったと思うので飲むことができて嬉しかったです。そして、パイ生地にたっぷりハチミツのかかったお菓子を食べました。このお菓子はすごく甘くて美味しかったです。ホストファザーはお好み焼きを食べていました。紅生姜が気に入ったそうです。また、ホースライディングをしました。日本でも何度か乗ったことはありましたが、何度乗っても、乗り始めの頃は少し怖く感じます。馬達はとてもおとなしくて、りんごが好きだそうです。

ホスピタリティの授業では肉まん(チャーシューまん)を作りました。私が驚いたのは生地にライムの搾り汁を使っていたことです。今回の授業は生地の発酵が必要だったので、待ち時間が多かったです。出来立ての肉まんはとても美味しかったし、初めて一から作れたので嬉しかったです。

週末はハイキングに予定なので楽しみです。探究も英検も頑張りたいと思います。

It’s been chilly lately so I wear a cardigan at school. Especially at night its been so cold that I have been using an extra blanket. It’s a strange feeling to be cold in May and  dealing with pollen has been terrible.

I went to the Market over weekend. I saw things that had Aboriginal patterns, Okonomiyaki and plants were sold there too. I drank Masala Chai which is an Indian tea (probably). It tasted like spicy black tea. I’m not such a fan of it but if I didn’t leave Japan maybe I wouldn’t get the chance to try it. I ate sweets which were on top of the pie crust and tasted like honey. These sweets were really sweet and tasty. My host father was eating Okonomiyaki and he liked red ginger. Also, I enjoyed horse riding. I have done it several times in Japan but I felt a little bit scared every time I ride. Horses are very quiet and I heard they like apples.

In Hospitality class, I made a Meat Bun (Char siu bun). We used lime juice as an ingredient which was surprising to me but it was awesome. In this class, we used dough so there was a lot of time spent waiting for it to rise. Freshly made meat buns were really tasty and I was happy because it was my first time making something from dough.

This weekend I’m gonna go hiking so I’m excited.

I’ll do my best to study Eiken exam and research project.
