【オーストラリアBDC留学ウィークリーレポート⑪】髙野咲桜さん

My last day of studying in Australia will be April 26th. April 24th was my last day at BDC. I had classes with Charlie, a junior high school student, just like usual. Because the classes were the same as always, I didn’t feel real that it was my last day. However, many of my friends said, “It’s almost time,” and that made me feel sad.
On the last day, there was an event called ANZAC Day. It is a day to remember all Australians who served in wars and lost their lives. At school, we had an ANZAC Assembly. The stage was decorated with many red flowers, which are a symbol of ANZAC Day. After listening to the sound of a trumpet, all the students had one minute of silence. We did not live in the time of war, we were able to learn about the sadness of war and the importance of life.
On the weekend, there was an ANZAC Day event in Bellingen. I was able to see it in person, and it was a very good experience for me.
I am very grateful to Zoa and her parents for giving me many great experiences and making wonderful memories. I feel very happy to have had such a valuable experience. By living in a different culture and meeting many people, my view of the world has become wider. I also learned that it is important to try to understand others, even when there is a language barrier.
Next time I meet everyone again, I want to show how much I have grown. I will never forget to be thankful to my family, teachers, and everyone I met.
4月26日が私のオーストラリア留学最終日です。24日はBDC最後の登校日でした。最終日も中学生のチャーリーと一緒に授業を受けました。いつもと変わらずの授業だったので実感があまり湧きませんでした。だけど仲良くしてくれた友達が「もうすぐだね」と言ってくれる子たちがたくさんいて寂しくなりました。
最終日には、ANZAC DAYというものがありました。これは、戦争や作戦行動で従軍し、命を落としたすべてのオーストラリア人を追悼する日です。学校ではANZAC Assembly が行われ、ステージにはANZAC DAYのシンボルである、赤い花でいっぱいになっていました。全校生徒でラッパの音色を聞いたあと、、一分間の黙祷をしました。戦争時代に生きていなかった私たちもこのように戦争の悲惨さや命の大切さを学ぶことができました。
週末にはベリンゲンでANZAC DAYのイベントが行われました。実際に見ることができていい経験になりました。
最後まで思い出を作ってくれて、たくさんの経験をさせてくれた、ゾアとゾアのお母さん、お父さんには感謝をしています。このような大きな経験を得ることができ、私は幸せだなと思いました。違う文化の中で過ごし、たくさんの方に出会い、視野も広がりました。言語の違いがある時も、相手を理解しようという積極性が大切だということもわかりました。次、みんなに再会したとき、私の成長を見せたいです。家族、先生、出会えたみんなに感謝を忘れずに過ごしていきたいです。
