ウィークリーレポート㉞
On Tuesday and Wednesday, I performed in Cleopatra, a ballet production by a company directed by a VAB teacher.
The choreography included characteristic Cleopatra-style arm movements throughout the piece. Therefore, in rehearsals leading up to the performance, I focused on refining the shapes of my arms and expressing the world of the piece. There was also a pas de deux (a part danced by a male and a female dancer). My partner and I practiced repeatedly, communicating with each other so that we could understand one another and dance comfortably together.
On Monday, we arrived at the theater, had a spacing rehearsal on stage, and did our final dress rehearsal.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we warmed up and checked our dancing on stage before the performances. Before each show, all the dancers formed a circle, held hands, and strengthened our sense of unity.
Tuesday’s performance was a bit nerve-wracking, and I was left with several points to improve. For the second show, I focused on applying those reflections and improving my performance.
On Wednesday, I was able to dance more relaxed and truly enjoy the atmosphere of the stage. I also felt that my dancing was clearer by learning from the mistakes I made in the first performance. My partner and I were able to feel each other while dancing, and we finished the performance with smiles.
I watched my teacher, who performed the leading role, on the monitor. The performance was very stable, and I could feel the aura of Cleopatra.
It was a rare opportunity to perform in a ballet production of Cleopatra, which is not very common in ballet. I gained valuable experience and made wonderful memories.

火曜日と水曜日にVABの先生がディレクターを務めるバレエカンパニーの公演「クレオパトラ」に出演しました。
クレオパトラ特有のアームスが振付けの随所に含まれています。そのため、本番までのリハーサルではアームスの形を研究し、演目の世界観を伝えることを意識して取り組みました。また、パドドゥ(男女のダンサーがペアで踊るパート)がありました。パートナーとコミュニケーションをとりながらお互いが理解して気持ち良く踊れるように練習を重ねました。
月曜日に会場入りをし本番の舞台で場当たりをし最終の通しリハーサルを行いました。
火曜日、水曜日の本番はフォームアップを行い舞台で踊りの確認をし本番に臨みました。本番前は出演者全員で円になり手を繋ぎ団結力を高めました。
火曜日の公演は少し緊張があり幾つか反省点が残りました。2公演目はその反省を生かす踊りを意識して挑みました。
水曜日はよりリラックスして舞台の雰囲気を楽しんで踊ることが出来ました。また最初の公演の反省を生かしてよりクリアな踊りができたように感じました。パートナーともお互いを感じながら踊り、笑顔で踊り切ることが出来ました。
モニターから主役を踊る先生の踊りを観ました。とても安定感のある踊りで、クレオパトラのオーラを感じました。
バレエ作品では珍しいクレオパトラの公演に出演し、貴重な経験を得ると共に、楽しい思い出ができました。
