Day 27
I went to history class and did group work. I worked with Archie and two Toms. When someone says “Tom!”, both of them turn around at the same time. I also think their faces look a little similar. Haha.
In the group work, we studied about Australia’s actions in wars. I learned things that we do not study in Japan, so it was very interesting. When we were using the whiteboard, one Tom was drawing Pokémon. It was actually pretty good and cute. The other Tom was writing numbers in kanji. After that, we talked about basketball. I asked them, “Do you know Rui Hachimura?” They said, “Ohhhh! Ruiiiii!” so they knew him. They also knew Yuki Kawamura and Yuta Watanabe. It was a very fun class.

Day 28
We had a lecture in period 5. The speaker talked about efficient study methods and how to use study notes. It was a little difficult, but I could understand more than before. When I talk with my friends now, I don’t need to ask them to repeat as much, and I can answer more smoothly. Recently, I often talk with Tiarna’n and Callum. Tiarna’n likes F1 and said he is very excited about the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. I also can’t wait for the weekend.

 Day 29
We played lacrosse in PE class. The ball is small and the stick is difficult to use. During the break, I talked with Callum. He said he didn‘t want to go to the next class because science is boring. Haha.
I also went to the last basketball practice. From next term, the sports will change to winter sports like soccer, rugby, and tennis. Tiarna’n invited me to play rugby, but I will probably be back in Japan by then. At the end of practice, we took a photo together. It was a short time, but it was very fun and I made many friends, so I feel sad that it finished. But I still have about one more month before I go back to Japan, so I want to enjoy it more. This weekend there will be basketball games for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. I hope they do their best. My friend Charlotte said the girls’ team is in the final.

Day 30
I went to the supermarket with my host father. Australian supermarkets have many different things. They have not only Australian food but also Japanese food. There were also many kinds of snacks. Personally, I think Tim Tams are the most delicious.
After I came home, I watched an F2 race. It is one category below F1. The race was very exciting, and a Japanese driver did very well. After that, I watched the F1 qualifying, ate dinner, and watched an F1 movie with my host family. It stars Brad Pitt. I watched with English subtitles for the first time, but I could understand the story.

Day 31
I watched the F1 race. Before the race started, Oscar Piastri from Australia crashed during the formation lap and could not start the race. It was very sad because it was his home race. But the race was very exciting, and my favorite driver George Russell won, so I was very happy. From tomorrow, short-term exchange students will arrive. I am excited because I can see my friends again.

 Day 32
I had a barbecue with the short-term students, Dora, Amelie, and Henry. I was very happy to see the teachers and students again after a long time. It was very fun to talk about many things with the short-term students and Dora‘s group. Talking with Japanese people is fun, but I enjoy talking with people from other countries even more. They know things that I don’t know, and I can learn about different values and ways of thinking. While studying abroad, I want to talk with even more people. I was also very happy because I could see Izzy’s mother again and talk with her.

 Day 33
After school, I went to a shopping mall. My host family member David went to buy soccer shoes. We looked at many products, but they were all quite expensive. During dinner, I asked my host mother how she learned English. She said she studied abroad in England. When she didn’t understand a word or a question, she always asked the meaning. She said continuing to make an effort is the most important thing. I also want to speak more English and have an even better study abroad experience.

 27日目、歴史の授業に行ってグループワークをしました。アーチー、トムそしてトムと一緒にやりました。トムが二人いて「トム！」って呼ぶと二人同時に振り返ります。顔も似ている気がします。笑。グループワークではオーストラリアの戦争の動きについてやりました。日本では学ばないことを学べたので良かったです。ホワイトボードを使っているときにトムがポケモンを描いていました。意外と似ていて可愛かったです。もう一人のトムは漢字で数字を書いていました。その後はバスケの話をしました。日本人選手知ってるのかなと思い、「Rui Hachimura 知ってる？」と聞くと「Ohhhhh!Ruiiiiiii! 」と言っていて知っていました。それと河村勇輝、渡邊雄太も知っていました。なかなか楽しい授業でした。

 28日目、period 5に講演会がありました。講演会では効率のいい勉強法や勉強ノートの使い方について話していました。ちょっと難しい内容でしたが、前に比べて言っていることがわかるようになってきました。友達との会話でも聞き返すことは少なくなってきて返事もスラスラ言えるようになってきました。最近はティアヌンとカラムとよく話します。ティアヌンはf1が好きで今週末のオーストラリアグランプリがとても楽しみだと言っていました。自分も週末が待ちきれません。

 29日目、体育でラクロスをやりました。玉が小さい上にラケットみたいなやつの扱いもとても難しかったです。休憩時間にはカラムと話しました。次の授業が理科で、理科は退屈だから行きたくないと言っていました。笑。それと、最後のバスケの練習に行きました。次の学期からは冬のスポーツに変わってサッカー、ラグビー、テニスをやるそうです。ティアヌンがラグビーに誘ってくれましたが、冬のスポーツをやる頃には、たぶん日本にいます。練習の最後にみんなで写真を撮りました。短い間だったけれどとても楽しくて、友達もたくさん作れたので終わってしまったのがとても寂しいです。でも日本に帰るまではまだ一ヶ月上あるのでまだまだ楽しみたいです。今週末は男女共にバスケの試合があるらしいので頑張って欲しいです。女子チームは決勝戦って友達のシャーロットが言っていました。

 30日目ホストファザーとスーパーに買い物に行きました。オーストラリアのスーパーにはいろいろなものがあります。オーストラリアの食べ物だけでなく、日本の食べ物がありました。それといろいろなお菓子がありました。個人的にはティムタムが一番美味しいと思います。家に帰った後はf2のレースを見ました。F1の一つ下のカテゴリーです。レースはとても面白くて日本人選手がとてもいい走りをしていました。その後はf1の予選を見て、ご飯を食べてホストファミリーとf1の映画を見ました。ブラット•ピットが主演の映画です。初めて英語の字幕付きを見ましたが、映画の内容を理解することができました。

 31日目　F1の決勝レースを見ました。レースのスタート前の試走でオーストラリア人のオスカー・ピアストリがクラッシュをして決勝に出れなくなってしまいました。彼の母国レースだったのでとても悲しかったです。でもレースはとても面白くて、さらに好きなドライバーのジョージ・ラッセルが優勝したのでとても嬉しかったです。明日からは短期留学の生徒が来ます。久しぶりに友達に会えるのでとても楽しみです。

 32日目　短期留学の人達と、ドラ、アメリ、ヘンリーと一緒にバーベキューをしました。久しぶりに先生や生徒に会えてとても嬉しかったです。短期の人たちやドラたちと色んな話ができてとても楽しかったです。日本人と話すのも楽しいけれどそれ以上に外国の人たちと話すのが楽しいです。自分の知らない世界を知っていて、価値観や考え方の違いをたくさん学ぶことができます。留学をしているうちにもっといろんな人と話してみたいです。それとイゾルトのお母さんに久しぶりに会って話せたのでとても嬉しかったです。

 33日目　学校から帰った後にショッピングモールに行きました。ホストファミリーのデイビッドがサッカーの靴を買いに行きました。いろいろな商品をみてみたけれどどの商品も結構高かったです。ディナーの時にお母さんにどのように英語を学んだか聞きました。お母さんはイングランドに留学があるそうで、分からない単語があるときや、聞かれていることが分からないときはその意味を毎回聞いていたそうです。お母さんは努力を続けることが一番大切だと言っていました。自分ももっと英語を話して、もっと楽しい留学生活を送れるようにしたいです。
