【オーストラリアBCCGS留学ウィークリーレポート①】藤森愛梨さん

It has been one week since I came to study abroad. During this week, I felt both the difficulty and the enjoyment of living entirely in English. Everything was in English, including conversations with my friends and host family, classes, shopping, and restaurant menus. There were many things I did not understand. However, when I faced something I did not understand, I tried to guess the meaning from the context first or asked people around me. By doing this, I was able to get through my first week.
Also, in Australia, I realized that, just as people at Ueda Nishi High School told me, it is difficult to make friends unless you start conversations yourself. So, I tried talking to students at CCGS on my own. As a result, I was able to make many friends. This weekend, I am planning to go to Sydney with them.
Living in Australia has given me many new experiences and opportunities to see new places. There are still many things I am not used to, such as going to the beach, shopping, and attending classes. However, I really enjoy using the English I have learned in real-life situations.
留学に来てから一週間が経ちました。この一週間で感じたのは、英語だけで生活することの難しさと楽しさです。友達やホストファミリーとの会話、授業、買い物の会計、飲食店のメニューなど、すべてが英語で、分からないことがたくさんありました。しかし、分からないことがあっても、まずは自分で文脈から意味を予想したり、周りの人に質問したりしながら、一週間を過ごすことができました。
また、オーストラリアでは、上田西高校で周りの人が言っていた通り、自分から話しかけにいかなければ友達を作ることは難しいと実感しました。そこで、自分からCCGSの生徒に話しかけてみました。その結果、友達を作ることができました。今週末は、その友達とシドニーに遊びに行く予定です。
オーストラリアでの生活は、初めての経験や景色にあふれています。ビーチや買い物、授業など、まだ慣れないことも多いですが、自分がこれまでに学んできた英語を実際に使えることを、とても楽しく感じています。
