【オーストラリアBDC留学ウィークリーレポート①】中山心結さん

I arrived in Australia on January 21st. Penny and Sam came to pick me up at the airport after I arrived at Sydney airport.The school is closed for summer vacation now.So, I visited Sydney for 4days.
First, I did a bridge climb at Sydney Harbour Bridge,Sydney famous bridge. I climbed the steel frame of the bridge and saw Sydney from above. I was a little scared because it was very high and the wind was strong.but, it was fun.
Next day, I went to the zoo.There are many animals that were not in Japan.There were Koaras and Kangaroos. I saw them for the first time.We were able to touch each other.And I was able to interact with Penny’s favorite animal,Quokka. I held the baby Quokka. It’s so cute. There were also snakes and lizards. I touched them for the first time and held them. It was very exciting.After that, I went to Bondi beach.It is a symbol of Australia. It’s beautiful.After that, I drew a picture on canvas at Kaboo Studio. It was so fun.
Next day, I went shopping with Penny and Penny’s friend,Ollie .Ollie was very good at Japanese ,because he studied abroad in Kanazawa for about a year.We ate burritos,went to the game centers, and talked at the food court.
Next day,I went to see the sea at Banenjoey Lighthouse.This day was very hot and tiring.After that, I met Penny’s grandparents,Bob and Jan. I ate fish and chips and cake there.It was delicious.And,Jan made me a gumnat baby bag.Gumnut baby is a fairy character with the motif of eucalyptus gumnuts drawn by Australia writer May Gibbs. I’m happy to get a very cute bag.After 4days of sightseeing, I arrived at Penny’s house. I went to meet Fred’s cat. He’s so cute.
1月21日にオーストラリアのシドニー空港に着きました。ペニーとペニーのお母さんのセームがシドニー空港までお迎えに来てくれました。今は学校が夏休みでお休みです。なので4日間シドニーを観光しました。
まず、シドニーで有名な橋シドニー・ハーバーブリッジでブリッジクライムをやりました。橋の道上ではなく鉄骨の上を登りシドニーを上から見ました。とても高く風も少し強かったため少し怖かったですが楽しかったです。
次の日に動物園に行きました。日本にはいない動物が沢山いました。動物園にはコアラとカンガルーがいました。私は初めて見ました。触れ合うこともできました。また、ペニーが1番好きな動物クオッカとも触れ合うことができました。クオッカの赤ちゃんを抱っこしました。とても可愛かったです。蛇やトカゲもいました。初めて触ったし抱っこもしました。とてもどきどきしました。その後は、オーストラリアのシンボルのボンダイビーチに行きました。綺麗でした。その後はカブースタジオでキャンバスに絵を描きました。とても楽しかったです。
次の日はペニーの幼なじみのオリーと会いました。オリーは前に金沢に留学に来ていたため日本語がとても上手でした。一緒にブリトーを食べ、ゲームセンターで遊びました。
次の日はバレンジョー灯台に行き海を見ました。この日オーストラリアはとても暑く疲れました。その後、ペニーの祖父母のボブとジャンに会いました。そこでフィッシュアンドチップスとケーキを食べました。美味しかったです。また、ジャンの手作りガムナッツベイビーのトートバッグをもらいました。ガムナッツベイビーとは、オーストラリアの作家メイ・ギブスが描いたユーカリの実をモチーフにした妖精のキャラクターです。とても可愛いトートバッグをもらえて嬉しいです。
4日間の観光を終えてペニーの家に着きました。私がずっと会いたかった猫のフレッドに会えました。とても可愛いです。
