On Friday, it was last lesson end of the semester at VAB. After the lesson, all of the students had a Christmas party and each person brought one item. My friend and I brought a California roll. There was a lot of food on the table, such as pizza, cookies and fruit so it looked very appetizing. My friend made cookies. There was a snowman drawn with melted marshmallows on them, and they were pretty so I felt it like a waste to eat them. Everything was good, but I especially liked the sandwiches and cookies.
After that, we had a Christmas gift exchange. It was called Secret Santa, which is a game where you guess who gave you the gift. We received a peace of paper in advance with the name of the person we would give a gift to, we prepared a gifts that suited that person. I chose a tumbler, a hair clip and snakes to match my partner’s image. Each person’s name was called, and we gave our presents. I was feeling excited and nervous, wondering who the present would be from and what it would be. When I opened it, I found ballet leg warmers and an assortment of sweets inside. I had been wanting ballet leg warmers, so I was really happy. I am filled with gratitude toward my friend in Mexico who prepared such a wonderful gift. Also, the friend who received the present I prepared was happy as well, and seeing their smile warmed my heart.
金曜日はVABで学期末最後のレッスンでした。レッスン後に1人一品ずつ持ち寄り、生徒全員でクリスマスパーティーを行いました。私は友人と一緒にカリフォルニアロールを持参しました。テーブルにはピザやクッキー、フルーツなど様々な種類の食べ物が並べられ食欲がそそられました。友達が手作りクッキーを作ってきてくれました。溶かしたマシュマロに雪だるまが描かれていて、食べるのが勿体ないくらいかわいかったです。どの食べ物も美味しかったですが、その中でも特にサンドイッチとクッキーが気に入りました。
その後、プレゼント交換がありました。VABではシークレットサンタという贈り主が誰かを当てるゲーム形式のプレゼント交換をします。事前にプレゼントを渡す相手が書かれた紙を受け取りその相手に合ったプレゼントを用意します。私は渡す友達をイメージしてタンブラーとヘアクリップ、お菓子を選びました。1人ずつ名前を呼ばれてプレゼントが渡されていました。誰からどんなプレゼントがもらえるのかドキドキワクワクでした。プレゼントを開けるとバレエ用のレッグウォーマーとお菓子の詰め合わせが入っていました。ちょうどバレエ用のレッグウォーマーが欲しかったのでとても嬉しかったです。素敵なプレゼントを用意してくれたメキシコの友達に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。また、私が用意したプレゼントを受け取った相手の友達も喜んでくれ、その笑顔を見て心が温かくなりました。
