【カナダ バレエ留学 ウィークリーレポート④】尾䑓愛桜さん
This week’s VAB lesson was mainly ballet to finish summer school.l went to an ice cream shop with my five VAB Japanese friends after the lesson finished early.The shop was my friend’s favorite,who has been going to VAB since last year, and the soft serve was coated with chocolate.I ordered salted caramel flavor.It was such a delicious visual combination of fun, crispy chocolate and soft serve.I moved to temporary homestay on Friday because my host parents left for a three-week trip. The family of four has two daughters aged nine and five. Everyone in the family is cheerful and welcoming toward me and I feel very comfortable spending time with them. I practiced writing hiragana and kanji with their daughters because they were interested in Japanese. They made an effort to practice writing enthusiastically and were able to write sentences at the end. I was glad that they were interested in Japanese and practiced writing earnestly.
I visited the event “Japanese Culture Festival” with my VAB Japanese friends on Saturday. The event showcased performances of kendo, taiko, and tea ceremony, which are popular in Japan, and toys and characters goods from Japan were sold there. Also, there was a yukata dressing corner where many people enjoyed dressing in yukata. Some Japanese food is also sold there, and I ate inarizushi and dorayaki. Japanese food was delicious after a long time and I felt nostalgic after all. Many people came to the event, and I realized how much interest there was in Japanese culture. I felt freshly exposed to Japanese culture from a different angle than before.
今週はサマースクールが終了したため、VAB(ビクトリアアカデミーオブバレエ)のレッスンは、バレエ中心のレッスンでした。レッスンが早く終わった日にVABの日本人友達5人とアイスクリームショップに行きました。去年からVABに通っている友達のおすすめのアイスクリームショップで、ソフトクリームをチョコレートの中に入れてコーティングされていました。私はソルトキャラメルを頼みました。キャラメルポップコーンやローストナッツがトッピングされていました。見た目も楽しくパリパリのチョコレートとソフトクリームの組み合わせはとても美味しかったです。
ホストペアレンツが3週間の旅行に出発したので、金曜日からテンポラリーのホームステイに移動しました。4人家族で9歳と5歳の娘さんがいます。家族みんな私を明るく向かい入れてくれとても過ごしやすいです。娘さんが日本語に興味を持ってくれたので、平仮名や漢字を一緒に書く練習をしました。とても熱心に書く練習に取り組み、最終的には文章まで書けるようになりました。日本語に興味を示してくれたこと、ひたむきに書く練習をしてくれたことがとても嬉しかったです。
土曜日に日系文化祭というイベントにVABの友達と行きました。日本で親しまれている剣道や太鼓、茶道などのパフォーマンスの披露や日本のおもちゃ、キャラクターグッズが販売されていました。また、浴衣の着付けコーナーもあり多くの方が浴衣を着て楽しんでいました。日本食も販売していて、私は稲荷寿司とどら焼きを食べました。久しぶりの日本食はやはり美味しく懐かしさを感じました。多くの人たちが来場していて、日本文化に対する関心の高さを実感しました。今までとは違った角度から日本文化に触れることができて新鮮な気持ちになりました。
