On Sunday, I went shopping with Yukina. Usually, Lily is with us, so shopping is much easier, but when it was just the two of us, we faced many difficulties.When we went to buy souvenirs for our family and friends, we started shopping without thinking and only took a basket. Later, we realized we needed a cart, but there was a gate behind us and we couldn’t go back.At the self-checkout, the supermarket bags were placed far away from the register, so we had to ask a staff member. Only after that could we finally start checking out.On the way back, Lily’s mom kindly took us to various places. We went to a pet shop, the Big Banana, and several beaches. At the Big Banana, we took pictures and bought souvenirs for our families.We also visited Reptile World and Candy Kitchen which are both at the Big Banana. In Reptile World I saw snakes crocodiles and lizards. These are the animals I dislike the most. I even got to see a crocodile feeding. I do not think I will ever see so many snakes again so it was a valuable experience.At the Candy Kitchen, we watched candies being made right in front of us. The shop was filled with all kinds of candy smells, but the mixture was quite unique, and honestly, I didn’t really like it.haha.Still, I was happy to have such a fun and fulfilling day.

On Tuesday, we had Open School Day. It’s a special day when parents can visit the school. From the morning, the front gate was lively with someone playing the guitar and lots of balloons decorating the area. During lunch, many people were performing music, so we could enjoy our meals while listening to live performances. In music class, we also got to hear a clarinet performance. Compared to a typical school observation day in Japan, this felt like a much bigger event. I thought it was really nice that students here get opportunities like this.

日曜日、雪花と一緒にショッピングに行きました。いつもはLilyがいて買い物が楽にできていましたが、２人きりになると難しいことがたくさんありました。家族や友達に渡すお土産を買いに行ったとき、私たちは何も考えずにカゴだけを持って買い物を始めました。途中でカートが必要なことに気づいて戻ろうとしましたが、ゲートがあって戻ることができませんでした。また、セルフレジではスーパーの袋が会計場所から遠くに置いてあり、店員さんに聞いて、やっと会計を始めることができました。帰りにはLilyのお母さんがいろんな場所に連れて行ってくれました。ペットショップやビッグバナナ、いくつかの海にも行くことができました。ビッグバナナでは写真を撮ったり、家族へのお土産を買ったりしました。また、ビッグバナナにある爬虫類動物園とキャンディーキッチンにも行きました。爬虫類動物園では、私が一番嫌いなヘビやワニ、トカゲがいて、ワニの餌やりの様子を見ることができました。こんなにたくさんのヘビを見る機会はもうないと思うので、良い経験になりました。キャンディーキッチンでは、目の前でキャンディーを作っている様子を見ることができました。お店の中は色んな飴の匂いが混ざっていて、独特な匂いがあまり好きではなかったです笑　でも、充実した休日を過ごすことができたので嬉しかったです。
火曜日にはオープンスクールデーがありました。これは、保護者が学校に来ることができる特別な日です。朝から校門の前ではギターを弾いている人がいたり、たくさんの風船が飾られていたりと、とてもにぎやかでした。お昼にはいろんな人が楽器を演奏していて、ご飯を食べながら音楽を楽しむことができました。音楽の授業ではクラリネットの演奏もあり、日本の参観日よりも大きいイベントに感じました。また、このような機会があるのは羨ましいと感じました。
