This Sunday was Mother’s Day. Lily made pancakes for us, and we enjoyed them very much. After that, both Lily and I gave the presents we had prepared to Lily’s mother, Iris. She was very happy, which made us happy too.

The shopping mall we went to the day before was very crowded, and I felt that Mother’s Day is a much bigger event in Australia compared to Japan. I think the culture of taking time to say thank you to family is truly wonderful.

This evening, I went to Daniel’s house with Yukina and Kentaro. As soon as we arrived, the four of us went for a walk and headed to the beach. We saw a bit of the sunset, and it was very beautiful. After that, Daniel’s parents took us to a Japanese restaurant called Ootoya. I was really happy to eat udon for the first time in a while. Then we went to an ice cream shop and had ice cream together. Today, I learned a lot about everyone’s favorite things and interests, and it turned out to be a really nice day.

今週の日曜日は母の日がありました。Lilyがパンケーキを作ってくれて、美味しくいただきました。そのあと、私とLilyがそれぞれ用意していたプレゼントを、Lilyの母Irisに渡しました。とても喜んでくれて嬉しかったです。

前日に行ったショッピングモールはとても混んでいて、オーストラリアでの母の日は、日本と比べて大きなイベントなのだと感じました。家族に改めて  ありがとう  を伝える文化は、とても素敵だと思いました。

今日の夕方、ゆきなとけんたろうと一緒にダニエルの家に行きました。着いてすぐ、4人で外を歩いてビーチへ向かいました。少しだけ夕日が見えて、とてもきれいでした。その後、ダニエルの両親が「Ootoya」という日本料理店に連れて行ってくれました。久しぶりにうどんを食べることができて、とても嬉しかったです。そのあと、アイス屋さんにも行き、みんなでアイスを食べました。今日は、みんなの好きなことや好きなものについてたくさん知ることができ、とても良い一日になりました。
