【オーストラリアBDC留学ウィークリーレポート⑤】髙野咲桜さん

This week, the short-term exchange students from Ueda Nishi came to BDC. I was happy to see them again. I felt relieved when I saw their faces.
They take classes with year eight students, so I sometimes joined those classes. When I joined both high school and junior high school classes, I found that the classes were very different.
So far, I have only joined the junior high school P.E. class. The students were very energetic and cheerful. When I was walking, some students said hello to me. Some students also talked to me in Japanese. I was very happy.
From next week, I can join more junior high school classes. I am really looking forward to it. I want to improve my English and communication skills.
In P.E. class, we do activities every Tuesday in groups. We can go to the beach, play basketball, go ice skating, or dance. For the beach and ice skating, we go there by bus. I was very surprised that they do these activities every week. I am very interested in them.
On Friday night, I had dinner at Zoa’s house with Hiroe-sensei and two BDC teachers. It is a special Friday event. We ate two salad and lasagna. Everything was very delicious. My favorite dish is seafood salad.
While we were eating, we talked about cultural differences and Zoa’s study abroad in Japan. I listened to the English conversation carefully. I was happy because I could understand a little.
After that, Zoa made a dessert. She used plums. We put ice cream made by Zoa’s father on top and ate it together. It was very delicious, and I ate more.
It was a very nice time.
今週は西高の短期留学の人たちもBDCに来て、久しぶりに会うことができました。みんなの顔を見ることができて安心しました。
短期留学の人たちは中学3年生たちと一緒に授業を受けるため、私もその授業に参加することがありました。実際に高校生と中学生の授業に参加してみると、授業の雰囲気が全然違うことが分かりました。
まだ中学生の授業には体育しか参加していませんが、みんなとてもパワフルで明るい子たちばかりでした。私が歩いていると挨拶をしてくれたり、日本語で話しかけてくれる子もいて、とても嬉しかったです。
来週からは中学生の授業も体験できるので、とても楽しみです。自分に合ったレベルの授業で、もっと英語力やコミュニケーション力を伸ばしていきたいと思います。
体育の授業では、毎週火曜日にいくつかのグループに分かれてアクティビティを行います。ビーチに行ったり、バスケットボールをしたり、アイススケートをしたり、ダンスをしたりと、さまざまな活動があります。ビーチやスケートにはバスで移動します。毎週このようなアクティビティが行われていることを知り、とても驚きました。また、どれもとても興味があります。
そして金曜日の夜は、ゾアの家でひろえ先生とBDCの先生2人と一緒に夜ご飯を食べました。金曜日恒例の特別なイベントを体験し、2種類のサラダとラザニアを食べました。どれもとてもおいしかったです。特にシーフードサラダが一番お気に入りでした。
食事をしながら、文化の違いの話や、ゾアが日本に来たときの話などを聞きました。英語を集中して聞き、少し理解することができて嬉しかったです。
その後、ゾアがプラムを使ったデザートを作ってくれました。そこにゾアのお父さんが作ったアイスクリームをのせて、みんなで食べました。これもとてもおいしくて、おかわりをしました。とても楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。
