It’s been almost three weeks since I arrived in Australia, and recently, I’ve been struggling with pronunciation. There are many sounds in English that don’t exist in Japanese, and no matter how many times I try, the “Th” sound is still difficult for me.

I want to study and improve my skills before I return to Japan.

Life here is completely different from Japan, and I’m still getting used to many things. For example, in classes, I’ve only seen textbooks used a few times. Most of the lessons are conducted on computers, with constant conversation between the students and the teacher. Also, on the bus I take to school, there are people who spread out across two seats and stretch their legs, or talk loudly. As I continue living here, I’m learning so much about the differences between life here and in Japan. I want to cherish these differences and make the most of my remaining month here.

オーストラリアに来て3週間が経とうとしていますが、最近発音の難しさに悩んでいます。日本にはない発音が多く、特にThは何回やっても難しいです。日本に帰るまでにできるように勉強していきたいです。

ここでの生活は日本と全く違い、いまだに慣れない事が多いです。例えば、授業では教科書を使っているところを数回しか見ていないです。大体がパソコンを使用していて、生徒と先生が常に会話をしながら授業を行っています。また、通学に使うバスでは2席使って足を伸ばしている人や、大声で喋っている人がいて、生活をしていくうちに、日本との違いをたくさん知る事が出来ます。その違いを大切にあと一ヶ月生活していきたいです。
