School started last week. We travel to and from school only by bus, and since there is a wide range of ages, the bus is very lively from early in the morning. I was also happy to see a big rainbow on the way to school. I was very nervous on the first day, but Daisy introduced me to many friends. Everyone was very friendly and kind, so I was able to start school feeling at ease.

The teaching style is very different. During class, students and teachers are close to each other, and students actively raise their hands to participate in class. In addition, the school has a high degree of freedom, and all classes are held in separate classrooms, so there are no short breaks between classes. Instead, there is snack time, and you can interact with a variety of students. I really enjoy that time.

Some classrooms are decorated with subject-related decorations, creating a bright and fun atmosphere. Students also do not wear indoor shoes, but wear regular shoes all day. The school rules are also quite different, and many students wear earrings and accessories, which made me a little envious.

At school, I was very happy to be able to meet and talk with students who had studied abroad at Ueda Nishi High School.

And the thing that surprised me the most was the sound of the school bell. It’s an electronic bell, and no matter how many times I hear it, I can’t get used to it. If you have the opportunity to study abroad, be sure to pay attention to the sound of the school bell.

先週から学校が始まりました。通学は登下校バスのみで、年齢層が幅広いこともあり、朝からバスの中はとても賑やかです。また、通学中には大きい虹を見ることが出来て嬉しかったです。

初日はとても緊張していましたが、デイジーが沢山の友達を紹介してくれました。みんなとてもフレンドリーで親切だったので安心して学校をスタートすることが出来ました。そして授業スタイルがとても異なっていて、授業では生徒と先生の距離感が近く、生徒が積極的に手を挙げ発言しています。また、基本的に自由度が高めで、全て移動授業なので短い休み時間はありません。その変わりに軽食を取ることの出来る時間があり、その時間では色んな生徒と関わることが出来てとてもいいです。教室によっては、その科目にあったものを部屋に飾ってあり、鮮やかな感じがあってとてもいいと思いました。また、上履きというものはなく一日中靴で過ごします。

校則に関しても色々異なり、ピアスやアクセサリーを身につけている人が多いので少し羨ましく感じています。学校では、上田西高校に交換留学できていた生徒とも久しぶりに話すことができてとても嬉しかったです。

そして、1番驚いたのはチャイムの音です。チャイムの音は電子音のベルの音のようで、何回聞いてもなれません。もし、留学する機会があればチャイムの音に注目して見てほしいです。
