【CCGS長期留学 ウィークリーレポート②】田村友乃さん
学校：Central Coast Grammar School（オーストラリア）
期間：2月2日～4月16日
だいぶオーストラリアでの生活にも慣れてきました。先週よりも自分からコミュニケーションを取れることが増え、自分の考えも伝えられるようになりました。友だちの名前や趣味も積極的に聞く事ができました。CCGSには小学校もあるため、小さな子とも仲良くなりました！
またCCGSにはハウスファミリーという授業があります。色々な学年の生徒がまざり、一緒に活動をします。そこで私は折り紙の作り方をみんなに教えました。私たちは、鶴をつくりました。英語はあまり話せなかったけど、たくさんコミュニケーションを取ることができました。
地理の授業では、みんなより少し遅れてはいますが、写真を撮ったりして、授業中に課題を終わらせる事ができました。自分の方法で勉強しました。授業はまだまだついていけてないけど、友だちに助けてもらって頑張る事ができました。分からないことは自分で友だちに尋ねたりもしました。理解できる事が増えてきてとても嬉しく思います。
また、オーストラリアで生活していて気がついたことは、コミュニケーションが多いということです。あいさつはもちろん、ありがとうと言う言葉を日本よりも聞きます。日本語の授業では、小学生が私に日本語で『ありがとう』と言ってくれてとても嬉しかったです。なので私ももっと英語で話しかけられるように頑張りたいです。
週末にはショッピングモールで買い物に挑戦しました。少し緊張しましたが、無事に買うことができました。ホストファミリーのドーラさんがいつも私を手伝ってくれました。彼女はとても親切で、笑顔で、私は彼女の事を尊敬しています。
私はこの二週間で笑顔が増えました。オーストラリアで生活している人たちは、相手の文化を尊重し、大切にしていると感じました。例えば、ハンバーガー屋さんにベジタリアンむけが用意されていたことです。（おいしかったです笑）
これからも私は笑顔を保っていきたいです。
I’m getting used to life in Australia. I was able to communicate more often than last week, and I was able to convey my thoughts. And, I was able to actively ask my friend’s name and hobby. CCGS has an elementary school students.
Also, CCGS has a class called House Family. Students from various grades mix and do activities together. So I taught “Origami” to everyone. We made cranes out of “Origami”. I couldn’t speak English very well, but I was able to communicate with them.
I was a little behind everyone in the geography class, but I was able to finish my assignment during the class by taking pictures. I studied in my own way. I haven’t been able to keep up with the class yet, but I was able to do my best with the help of my friends. I asked my friends sometimes I didn’t understand. I am very happy that there are more things I can understand.
Another things I noticed while living in Australia is that there is a lot of competition. In Australia, people say thank you more than in Japan. I was very happy that an elementary school student said “thank you” to me in Japanese. So, I want to talk to everyone more in English.
I tried shopping at the mall on the weekend. I was a little nervous, but I was able to buy souvenirs. My host family, Dora, always helped me. I respect her because she is very kind and always smiles.
My smile has increased in the last two weeks. I felt that people living in Australia respect and value the other person’s culture. ( For example, a hamburger restaurant prepared vegetarian food. It was delicious.)
I want to keep smiling in the future.
